Coordinator of the Data Team

Meet Vincent on the Medewerkers Page

Vincent has a background in Geo-Informatics with affinity for cartography, spatial analysis and project management. He earned a master degree (Msc) in Geo-Information and Applications Management. He coordinated implementations of CAD and GIS systems in multiple setups at different environments and maintained an organisional wide used GIS system providing a wide variety of spatial vector and raster data. 

He possesses the next skills and expertise; 

  • GIS  
    • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal, ArcGIS Server, QGIS 
    • Setting up and documenting application infrastructures  
  • Data Workflows 
    • Setting up workflow diagrams and structures to organise data 
    • Preparing batch processing of collected data to central storage locations 
  • Open Science and FAIR data: 
    • Expertise in applying the Open Science principles in practice. 
    • Experience in promoting Open Science practices including making data and software openly accessible and reusable. 
    • Experience in applying FAIR principles to scientific outputs in practice. 
  • Computing 
    • Profiency in VBA to capture and process gathered data 
    • Profiency in SQL to develop queries for retrieving data

Privacy Officer

Meet Francisco on the Medewerkers Page

Francisco is a specialist in personal data protection, with professional certifications on European data protection law (CIPP/E), privacy management (CIPM) and privacy in IT (CIPT). He previously earned his PhD in molecular bacteriology at the University of Groningen, He is also an advocate for open-source software, who’s been using Linux Mint since 2007.

Data Stewards

Meet Aristotelis on the Medewerkers Page

Aristotelis has a background in Geo-informatics (MEng) and Applied Data Science (MSc), adept at analysing and visualizing spatial data to derive actionable insights, as well as developing and deploying Machine Learning (ML) models tailored for real-world applications.  

Main Skills can be categorized as follows:

Meet Maisam on the Medewerkers Page

Maisam has a background in experimental subatomic physics with an affinity with data analysis and statistical techniques. He also did a postdoc as a data scientist for European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) to help the sub-atomic physics community to make their data, software and computational infrastructure FAIR and Open. My skills are as follows: 

  • Data Analysis:  
    • Experience in experimental physics involving data analysis, manipulation, and interpretation. 
    • Ability to visualize data using 2D and 3D graphs to convey complex information. 
  • Programming:  
    • Proficiency in C++ for developing procedural scripts for data analysis. 
    • Experience using Git & GitHub for versioning and sharing code. 
    • Affinity to Fortran mainly for numerical simulation. 
    • Affinity to Python. 
    • Affinity to principles of Deep Learning 
  • JupyterNotebooks: 
    • Experience in using JupyterNotebooks for reproducible data analysis workflows, visualization, and documentation. 
    • Experience with setting up JupyterHub server and its deployment on Docker Swarm. 
    • Affinity with Binder and BinderHub. 
  • Docker: 
    • Experience in Dockerizing software packages 
    • Experience in deploying and running Dockerized scientific software using Docker-compose and Docker Swarm. 
  • Open Science and FAIR data: 
    • Expertise in applying the Open Science principles in practice. 
    • Experience in promoting Open Science practices including making data and software openly accessible and reusable. 
    • Experience in applying FAIR principles to scientific outputs in practice. 
    • Experience with developing Open Science policy 
    • Affinity with IT infrastructures needed for Open Science. 
  • Scientific Research: 
    • Background in scientific research methodologies, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, and statistical analysis.  
Meet Garrett on the Medewerkers Page

Garrett has a background in GIS and photography, and in the past has applied this for archaeologists to map sites with GNSS/GPS and photogrammetry with drones, as well as 3D modelling and digitizing collections of artefacts. He earned a Masters of Arts (MA) degree in Geography, GIS, and holds the American GIS Professional (GISP) certification.
